Explore one of the 7 local breaks, Santana, Café break, Beginners Bay, Outer reef, La Lejana, Popoyo and la Piedrita, from south to north, all at a maximum of 20 minutes walking distance.
Go on a boat trip with your friend and reach other surrounding famous breaks.
Or, learn to surf with one of the numerous local surf instructors.

Nahualapa hotsprings
Experience the natural Nahualapa hotsprings, and its warm volcanic water. Take a bath in one of its pools and relax. Don’t hesitate to bring some friends with you. And don’t forget your water and Toña.
Yoga
Take some time and treat yourself with some yoga lessons. Most hotels and resorts offer lessons in amazing atmospheres and with international teachers.
Tidal pools
In the northern part of Guasacate beach, at Popoyo’s doors step, you will find natural tide pools. A great place to hang out with friends or family, or have a romantic date and watch the sunset.
Watch sunsets
Sometimes the best things to do are the most simple ones. Walk to the beach, maybe onto Popoyo rock, majestically rising out of the ocean, sit and enjoy!
Fishing
Get to El Astillero, a fishing village close to Popoyo and go on a fishing boat trip, share your catches with the locals and have a treat for you and your friends.
Or, join one of the local spearfishing expert and have a unique experience fishing smaller fish and lobsters in the nearby reefs.
Chacocente
Popoyo is located close to one of the largest Wildlife Refuge and Sae Turtle Reserves of Nicaragua. Go watch sea turtles hatch out of their eggs and help them get safely to the sea. Or explore this sanctuary and discover part of Nicaragua’s majestic wildlife.
